I spend quite some time blogging; some colleagues probably think that this is an utter waste of time. Not surprisingly, I disagree.
What am I doing with this blog? It’s a process-oriented approach to my work as a librarian; I’m using this space as a way of analyzing problems, creating discourse/dialogue — often with myself — and developing the ideas that I pluck from the tag-cloud. It sounds spiritual, but it’s not; it’s called thinking, and the blog is a tool for this.
Writing down what you think helps you learn about the thing you’re writing about and about yourself. You need the process to develop; I’m not about to let that go.
